Graphic novel "Weź się w garść"
2018"Weź się w garść" is my debut graphic novel, published by Wydawnictwo Komiksowe in 2018. This is a quasi-autobiographical graphic novel, where Ania is both the main character and the narrator. The action spans several years. The novel was born out of a need to tell the story of what depression of our loved ones looks like. I think this is quite a unique perspective, as graphic novels often tell stories about illnesses from the perspective of those who experience them. I wanted to show a different point of view. At the same time, it is a story about a strong friendship of several years, which survived despite life’s obstacles. In Poland, the novel was warmly received, with positive reviews and the best script award from Polskie Stowarzyszenie Komiksowe [Polish Comics Association] at the 2019 Komiksowa Warszawa [Warsaw of Comics] festival. In 2021, it was also published in Hungary. Cover by Hans Lijklema.
